Meet Sydnee

My name is Sydnee and I’m excited to meet you! I’m an Intermediate/Senior qualified teacher, but I’ve worked with students from age 7-18. My undergraduate HBA is from University of Toronto and my majors were Geography and History (I really like people and travelling all around the world)! I did my Bachelor of Education at York University and after graduating in June 2014, I moved to England to teach for four months.

I’ve worked at an Academic Summer Camp the last two years, where I taught Math & Literacy curriculum to students going into grades 3 and 4 in addition to playing/learning new games and sports and having lots of fun!

I’m one of those people who have “always wanted to be a teacher” and I love working with kids. Everyone is unique and I love to discover that in each student I work with and help him or her to be the best they can be.

Meet Lieneke (Giggles)

My name is Lieneke Steeves, and I reside in the beautiful city of Mississauga, Ontario. I got married and moved here from the small city of Fredericton, NB. I received my Teaching Certificate from the Saint Thomas University School of Education.

My undergrad was completed at Saint Thomas University in 2013. I majored in English and drama, two subjects that have the opportunity to compliment the other, especially in an elementary setting.

I have extensive experience with children from my many years as a summer camp employee and my two internships that I completed in the STU education program. My first internship I was placed at Park Street School in a grade two class. During my second internship, I had the pleasure of experiencing team teaching in a kindergarten class at Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary School. In the latter I taught 42 students on a daily basis as they were only separated twice a week!

I have truly enjoyed my experiences in the classroom and I feel that how that transfers to my studies is invaluable.

Meet Stephanie (Rocky)

Hello and welcome to Wise Adventures Camp! My name is Rocky and I'm excited to get to know you all and have a memorable week!

This past May, I graduated from Brock University and have since become certified as an Ontario College of Teacher member.  I have worked at camps for the past 7 summers and am excited to try out my first March Break camp with you all!  I have lots of experience as a soccer coach, a reading buddy, and a tutor.  If you're looking for an upbeat, creative, dedicated human being - then look no further!

One thing that you probably wouldn't know about me at first glance is that I've won a few limbo dancing competitions.  Impressive, right?

I can't wait to get to know you all and have an eventful camp!  See you soon!
